We collect your rug and bring it to our dedicated cleaning plant, where it will receive our very thorough Cleaning System to obtain maximum soil and spot removal. We are also able to use various cleaning tools, such as dusting grids, that are not available to us off-site, and it enables controlled drying.
Pre-Inspection and Collection - We will determine as much as we can about the type of rug and inherent qualities that may affect cleaning. We will outline the expected results and cleaning method. We can come to your home to collect your rug, or you may drop it by our workshop.
Dry Soil Removal - Woven rugs, especially hand knotted rugs, are designed to hide dry soil. We use a variety of techniques to “dust” the rugs from the front and back. This is the most important step in cleaning any rug. When we return rugs they can be to 25 kilos lighter due to dust and soil being removed.
Pre-Spot and Fringe Preparation - Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal. Then the rug goes through the same three step clean as your home carpets, with special attention paid to fringes
Drying - Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a humidity-controlled environment.
Finishing - When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers and re-oiled if required.
Post-Inspection and Delivery - Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for collection or delivery. Your rug will be wrapped to protect it from dust and environmental soils until it is picked up or delivered.
